…Samirah gave a speech about the importance of making alliances with American progressive movements. He explained that in order to achieve their goals, particularly undermining the State of Israel and the “Zionist” lobby in the West, Palestinian Americans should be pragmatic and temporarily ignore their differences with progressive parties in the West. Samirah added that this “alliance” strategy was inspired by the example of Muhammad, who forged temporary alliances with pagan tribes in order to achieve his goals. Samirah told the audience: “[Muhammad] had to form treaties with his enemies. He had to form alliances with people who weren’t necessarily believers of his message, who would later on become people who would be his enemies.”
…“I do not know what other message God is sending me other than that I am not dead because I am to avenge for the murders of innocent protesters not just in Egypt, but in the entire world,” Samirah said, referring to anti-Sisi Egyptian protesters.
…Samirah is also a rabid Israel hater who speaks of the “Israeli occupation” and recently vowed to “avenge” the deaths of Egyptian protesters, according to his own social media posts, which have been provided to Big League Politics.
…“There is never a place for any hateful speech whether it’s in politics or daily life. Dr. Samirah owes it to the voters of District 86 to address his statement that sending money to Israel is “worse” than sending money to the KKK. The people of the 86th District look forward to hearing his response,” Nelson’s campaign manager Chad Brown stated.
….Ibraheem Samirah, the Democrat nominee in Virginia’s 86th district House of Delegates election on February 19th, issued a statement Friday evening apologizing for anti-Israel and anti-Semitic social media posts that were published Thursday by Big League Politics.
…Both of these men — Abuirshaid and Jaber — were named by the Israeli government in a February 3 report on the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement’s links to terrorism. Both of these men, Osama Abuirshad and Rafael Jaber, are top-ranking officials of the American Muslims for Palestine (AMP). The AMP is spun off from a group that was found guilty by a federal court of providing financial aid to Hamas. Abuirshaid and Jaber were also part of that parent group. Samirah was the featured speaker at this past November 22-24 conference for the American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), which is named in the Israeli government’s report “Terrorists In Suits.”
February 14, 2019 Virginia Democratic Candidate Apologizes to Jewish Community for Past Statements: Ibraheem Samirah once suggested Israel was worse than the KKK, now he’s running for office in Virginia
…The central tenets of that worldview include Samirah’s claim that the Israeli government stole Jerusalem from Palestinians, a theft, he argues, that was “washed off as the Promised Land for Jews only (using the Torah and Zionist ideology).” Samirah also tweeted, in July of 2014, that he believes the United Arab Emirates “secretly promised to fund Israeli attacks on Gaza.”
…Ibraheem Samirah’s apology was vague and stands amid a lifetime immersed in intense anti-Israel sentiment. If he hopes to ever be a genuine representative of the people, he needs to explain exactly how his thinking has changed.
February 19, 2019 – Steve Emerson, Investigative Project on Terrorism on WMAL Radio: Emerson: Virginia Voters Need to Understand, Reject Sameerah Ibrahim’s Anti-Semitism
…I don’t know whether it will affect him but I think it should affect him because the comments are undeniably anti-Semitic. Now he has said he has apologized for those comments, but he’s also said that they were taken out of context and that they were part of a slander campaign. Both of those latter allegations are demonstrably false. None of them were taken out of context and to the extent that he says that he’s only mitigating his apology.
…“We, the Muslims of the Washington metropolitan area, are here today, in subfreezing temperatures, to tell our brothers and sisters in Palestine that you have learned the way. That you have known that the jihad way is the way to liberate your land. And we, by standing here today despite the weather and despite anything else, we are telling them that we are with you, we are supporting you, and we will do everything that we can M’shallah to help your cause,” he said.
February 19, 2019 Virginia democratic candidate’s anti-Semitic past, recent apology
…To show that he’s not an anti-Semite, Samirah’s apology mentioned that he is a co-founder of American University’s Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) chapter. But JVP is a rabidly anti-Israel group that championed the case of a convicted Palestinian terrorist. Samirah’s campus activism also includes work with the virulently anti-Israel Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP). The SJP is a radical student organization active on approximately 200 U.S. college campuses. Since its establishment in 2010, SJP chapters have campaigned for divestment from Israel, which it smears as an apartheid state, and accuses of ethnic cleansing.
…But there are even bigger problems with Samirah than an anti-Semitic post from 2014 whose hateful attacks on Jews and Jewish people he had dismissed in his ‘apology’ as merely “ill-chosen words”. To understand the true nature of the anti-Semitism being mainstreamed by the Democrats, we have to go back to a field trip by a class of seventh and eighth grade girls in the spring of 1997.
…AMP’s founder and president is Hatem Bazian. He also founded SJP. Bazian has a history of deeply anti-Semitic comments and conspiracies. In 2004, Bazian spoke at a fundraiser for an organization the U.S. Treasury determined was fundraising for Hamas. In a 2017 post, Samirah pledged “sizeable” funds and linked to a page of AMP talking points. The page warns that “Zionist Jews” are trying to take over Jerusalem. In 2018, Samirah spoke at an AMP conference in Chicago alongside Bazian.
May 22, 2019 One America News Network: Member Of VA Legislature Connected To Anti-Semitic Orgs
…Smits explained how the delegate’s father, described by Samirah as having taught him to “dedicate my life to the liberation of Palestine,” was politically active in Jordanian politics and called for a military invasion of Israel. The father lived in the United States illegally, and was barred reentry after visiting a relative in Jordan in 2002. “[The father] appeared on Al Jazeera a number of times,” Smits said. “He ran for public office, and he was also identified as the spokesman for the Islamic Action Front, which is a political arm of Jordan’s Muslim Brotherhood.”
…A story by Mikhael Smits in the Washington Free Beacon detailed Samirah’s long-running association with the American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), a Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions group formed out of the Hamas-linked Islamic Association of Palestine (IAP). Samirah’s ties are both historic—including his father’s time as Chairman of the IAP and role as a Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood spokesman—and ongoing. He received funds from AMP donors in his delegate campaign this year, and spoke at AMP’s 2018 national convention.
…Samirah’s father, Sabri Samriah, is a Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood leader who was banned from the United States for national security reasons under President George W. Bush but eventually won a lawsuit to be allowed to return under President Obama in 2010. The elder Samirah, who resided in the United States illegally as a visa overstay, served as chairman of the Islamic Association of Palestine (IAP). During the Holy Land Foundation trial, the federal government successfully argued in court that IAP existed to support the terrorist group Hamas with “propaganda and information.”
The Texas-based Islamic charity and its leaders were convicted of financing the terrorist group Hamas. In a 2017 Facebook post, Ibraheem Samirah posted a petition he had signed calling for the HLF defendants to be pardoned and described their fundraising as “not a crime.”
…Yet Samirah remains a vocal supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which inflames anti-Semitism on American college campuses. The group Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) has harassed Jewish students and students from Israel, denouncing the Jewish state as a “white supremacist state.” The now-delegate was an active member of SJP, as the Washington Free Beacon’s Mikhael Smits reported.
SJP receives funds and logistics from American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), another group of which Samirah is a member. Hatem Bazian, founder and president of AMP and the founder of SJP, has a history of deeply anti-Semitic comments supporting anti-Semitic conspiracies. In 2004, he spoke at a fundraiser for KindHearts, an offshoot of the Holy Land Foundation, a notorious terror-funding network. The Anti-Defamation league traced AMP’s roots to a Hamas propaganda group called the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP). Internal documents reveal that IAP’s goal was to “increase the financial and the moral support for Hamas” and the outfit sent roughly $3 million per year to Hamas through the Holy Land Foundation.
